Kirk & Becky Brandenberger of Keokuk, Iowa are the recipients of the 2004 International Bluegrass Music Association's Distinguished Achievement Award. This award honors those in bluegrass music who have proven to be forerunners in their particular field of endeavor or who have fostered bluegrass music's image with developments that will broaden the music's recognition and accessibility.

Kirk & Becky are the owners and proprietors of Prime Cuts of Bluegrass, a radio marketing service specializing in bluegrass music. The Brandenbergers’ innovative service provides a timely, inexpensive, structured way for bluegrass bands to promote new recordings to a network of public and commercial stations, as well as to syndicated radio shows.

In addition to Prime Cuts, Becky has worked as a sales rep for Copper Creek, Rebel and Rounder Records, a booking agent for The Karl Shiflett & Big Country Show and an IBMA volunteer as a Midwest Regional Rep and School Outreach Program Coordinator. Kirk is a popular emcee at festivals in the Midwest, hosts 2 long-running bluegrass radio shows; WBKR-FM in Owensboro, Ky and KOKX-FM in Keokuk, was a member of the IBMA Board of Directors for six years and was responsible for the inclusion of the Gospel Recording of the Year in the Annual Awards Program and also is a Kentucky Colonel. A gifted fiddler, Brandenberger has performed and recorded previously with Larry Sparks and Karl Shiflett’s Big Country Show—most notably on the classic John Deere Tractor album with the former.
